THE 4th EAUMP CONFERENCE  FROM 17th-19th AUGUST, 2020  & THE 5TH NETWORK GROUP MEETING FROM 20th – 22nd AUGUST 2020

The Eastern Africa Universities Mathematics Programme (EAUMP) in collaboration with the International Science Programme (ISP) and Sida Bilateral programme is organizing the 4th EAUMP International conference to be hosted by the Department of Mathematics, University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM). The Conference will be held in the tourist city of Arusha, Tanzania from 17th  – 19th August, 2020 at The Ngurdoto Mountain Lodge. The audience will comprise of PhD students, postdoc, senior and junior academic researchers in Mathematics from the Eastern Africa region, the rest of Africa and the world.

ABSTRACTS FOR THE EAUMP CONFERENCE

Abstracts are invited on research results in the areas as listed above. For those wishing to make a presentation, the deadline for receiving abstracts is 30th April 2020. The abstract should be written in English and not exceed 300 words, with a maximum of 7 keywords and 4 references. The LATEX template that should preferably be used can be found at http://www.eaump.org/conferences/. The template includes title, name(s) of author(s), affiliation, email address, telephone number(s) and should outline the aims, methodology, results, discussion and conclusions. 4th EAUMP CONFERENCE REGISTRATION FEE

Participants of the 4thEAUMP conference not sponsored by ISP, Sida Bilateral programme and EAUMP will cover their costs including costs of travel, accommodation and will pay conference registration fee which is USD 100 for students and USD 200 for other researchers. Registration fee will cover conference package, photocopies and airport transfer.

 

FINANCIAL SUPPORT

Limited financial assistance to cater for (full/partial) travels and/or local expenses will be provided to some members depending on the availability of sponsors.  However, every effort should be made by candidates to secure full financial support. Candidates will be selected by the organizers, and will be informed on the results at least one month before the respective event.

 

VISA

Visa may be required for international visitors at Kilimanjaro International Airport or other ports of entry. Please check with the respective local Embassy for details and other requirements. The government of Republic of Tanzania requires proof of yellow fever vaccination if you are traveling from a country with risk of yellow fever.

 

ACCOMMODATION

 The official venue for the EAUMP conference is the Ngurdoto Mountain Lodge. The hotel conference negotiated charge per person per night is USD 75 (BB). However, there are many hotels near the venue, bed and breakfast ranges USD 25 to USD 200. Details will be available in the subsequent announcements.

All participants of the 5th Network meeting will stay at the Ngurdoto Mountain Lodge and accommodation with full board is USD 110 per night and person.

4th EAUMP Conference abstract submission deadline: 30thApril, 2020

Registration for the 5th Network Research Groups Meeting will be open 1st February to 30th April, 2020

 

EXCURSION

There will be an excursion at the end of the conference to one of the following top tourist attractions in Tanzania: The slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro, Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Crater. More updated details can be found in the conference website.
